General Situation
Under the influence of an anticyclone aloft, the weather was generally fine and very hot over Guangdong yesterday. Locally, it was mainly fine, and dry during the day. Temperatures over the territory generally rose to around 33 degrees in the afternoon. It was extremely hot over parts of the territory and temperatures reached 35 degrees or above. Besides, winds were weak over the coast of Guangdong during the day yesterday. The northeast monsoon affected the region gradually at night. The dry northeast monsoon will continue to bring mainly fine weather to the coast of southern China today.
Weather forecast for Hong Kong
Cloudy periods and a few showers at first. The minimum temperature will be about 25 degrees in the morning. Mainly fine, hot and dry during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Moderate north to northeasterly winds, fresh offshore and on high ground at first.
Outlook
Mainly fine for the rest of this week to early next week. The temperature difference between day and night will be relatively large. Very dry, and very hot over parts of the territory during the day on Friday and Saturday.
